OCDIR Business Listing Corrections, Claims and Removal
Find the right way to update a business profile, claim ownership, or ask for removal from the Orange County Business Directory.
How to Request a Business Listing Change
Use the existing OCDIR business profile rather than creating a duplicate. Include its public listing URL and describe the specific factual correction, ownership request, or removal request. Use the Contact page to submit an inquiry; never post passwords, full payment-card numbers, identity documents, or other sensitive material in a public message.
Correct Inaccurate Business Information
How can I correct a business name, address, phone number or other detail?
Use our contact form to identify the listing URL, incorrect information, and the requested correction. Do not include sensitive documents in the public message.
Can I update an existing profile by submitting a new listing?
No. If the business already appears on OCDIR, request a correction or claim the existing profile instead of submitting a duplicate record. This helps preserve its original directory page.
What information helps with a correction request?
Include the link to the affected business profile, the detail that is incorrect, and the replacement information you believe is accurate. If available, link to the company's own public website or another publicly accessible reference. OCDIR may review the request before updating the record.
Claim an Existing Business Listing
How do I claim my existing business profile?
Use the Claim This Business link on a published company profile. Ownership claims require independent review and are not automatically accepted.
Does automatic publication or a paid subscription prove ownership?
No. A valid submitted listing may publish without ownership verification, and the optional $29/month plan does not itself grant access to existing profile controls. A separate ownership review protects existing listings.
Request Removal From the Orange County Directory
How do I ask OCDIR to remove my business listing?
Businesses and authorized representatives can contact us to request removal. We review the request, confirm its connection to the listing where needed, and update the directory when appropriate.
What if I cannot find my listing URL?
Search OCDIR's directory for the business name, city or category to locate the relevant profile. Include enough identifying information in your contact message for the administrators to find the listing without guessing.
Does a request guarantee immediate removal?
No. OCDIR reviews removal requests and may need to confirm their relationship to the listing before taking action. The Contact page is the appropriate place to follow up without submitting a duplicate public listing.
